Teri Sahn-Silver, LMSW

CLINICAL THERAPIST

Hi, I’m Teri. For over 47 years I have practiced as a social worker in hospitals and outpatient cancer centers. I have had the privilege of supporting patients, family members and caregivers as they navigate the complexities of serious health conditions. I understand the ways in which illness challenges all aspects of a persons’ life.

A diagnosis of cancer or other serious medical conditions can bring uncertainty, fear, grief and anxiety. Family members and caregivers face their own emotional concerns while caring for a loved one. Aging can also present unexpected transitions, changes in health, independence, identity and relationships. You do not have to face this alone.

My practice is dedicated to helping adults who are affected by cancer and other serious illness, older adults facing the challenges of aging and caregivers seeking support. I can help if you are adjusting to a new diagnosis or a recurrence of disease, coping with treatments, managing survivorship, facing advanced or terminal illness, grieving a loss or feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of caregiving. I offer a compassionate, supportive space where you can talk openly. I will work with you to identify new coping and adjustment tools to help.

My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in the belief that every person has strengths that can be drawn upon during difficult times. I am able to discuss the hardest issues that impact you.  Together, we will explore practical coping strategies, build resilience, and help you find meaning and hope, even in the midst of uncertainty.

Seeking support is a sign of strength. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate the challenges you are facing.

A little about me…

When I am not working, I am blessed to have many things that feed my soul. I love to read, cook and try new restaurants. My husband and I camp and being outdoors with our dog is our happy place. Spending time with family and friends who are like family is what I love to do most.

I believe that therapy is a place to breathe, reflect and talk openly about what you are experiencing and feeling. I prioritize listening deeply and offer perspective with compassion. I will walk alongside you along the way.
